Equinite Gems Helps Equestrian Journalism Students

2012-equinite-ahpsilentauction-1.jpgAmerican Horse Publications (AHP) is a professional association for the world of equine publishing and media. Through their student program, AHP has helped aspiring equestrian journalists learn of the career options available in the field, and to network with editors, publishers, and other journalists. Oftentimes, these contacts have led to internships, jobs, and lifelong friendships. And this year, Equinite helped, too.

Each year at their conference, AHP has a silent auction and raffle to raise funds to support the Student Award program; student entrants submit to a rigorous selection process that includes a written essay and an oral interview. Winners receive a travel voucher and attendance to the conference. The program was started in 1993.

This year, Equinite donated several items which resulted in some hot & heavy bidding; at the end of the auction, one set (earrings, necklace and bracelet) was split by two bidders! Both of them proudly wore their new Equinite jewelry the next day.

Overall, the 2012 AHP Student Fund Auction & Raffle raised $3,525.00 at the conference, held this month in Williamsburg, Va.

We're happy to have been a part of a program that's such a positive influence for students wanting to pursue careers in the equine industry.

UPDATE: We've just learned that one of the Equinite sets received the 2nd highest bid of the event, out of ALL the great merch that was donated! Our thanks and congrats to AHP member Bridget Harrison who came in with the winning bid!
